Full Biography
Ed Steenstra is a music educator and trombonist based in Fredericksburg, Virginia. He is the former Band Director at Stafford High School and has served as Instructor of Trombone at the University of Mary Washington since 2018. He maintains a private trombone studio and is on staff with the Mountain View High School Marching Band.
An active performer, Ed is principal trombonist of the Fredericksburg Symphony Orchestra and performs regularly as a freelance trombonist throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. He serves as a judge and guest clinician for marching competitions, assessment events, and All-County ensembles across Virginia.
Professionally, Ed is a Supervisor of Business Operations Analytics at Public Consulting Group, where he partners with state and local education agencies to improve student outcomes and special education practices.
