Volunteers are the heartbeat of the Fredericksburg Symphony Orchestra. From ushering at concerts to supporting family programs and outreach, our volunteers make every performance possible — and have a wonderful time doing it.
Current Open Roles
Concert Usher
Greet attendees, hand out programs, and guide patrons to their seats with a warm welcome.
Backstage / Stage Crew
Help move chairs, stands, and percussion between pieces and keep the stage running smoothly.
Box Office & Will Call
Check in ticket holders, distribute will-call tickets, and answer patron questions.
Instrument Petting Zoo Guide
Introduce young audience members to real orchestral instruments at Lollipops and family events.
Community Outreach Ambassador
Represent the FSO at regional festivals, fairs, and community events throughout the season.
Social Media & Photography
Capture concert moments and help share the FSO story across digital channels.
Development Committee
Help build donor relationships and shape sponsorship campaigns that sustain the orchestra.
Education & Outreach Committee
Plan youth programs, school partnerships, and family engagement initiatives.
