Patrick Neidich

Full Biography

Patrick Neidich currently holds the William and Tessa Pou Principal Trumpet Chair and has been a member of the Fredericksburg Symphony since the inaugural season in 2021. Beginning his studies at age 11, Patrick is a product of one of the many public school music programs across the United States. He went on to earn a B.S. in Music Education from Duquesne University ('99), a M.M. in Trumpet Performance from the University of Michigan ('01), and a M.Ed. in Educational Leadership from Regent University ('16). Principal teachers include Roger Sherman, George Vosburgh, William Campbell and Charles Daval.

Patrick has enjoyed performing throughout Northern Virginia and DC area for the past 25 years. Notable ensembles include principal trumpet positions with the Loudoun Symphony, Maryland Lyric Opera, and Piedmont Symphony along with performance opportunities with the Riverside Dinner Theater, Silver Tones Swing Band, and many area chorales and churches. Patrick was also the featured soloist on two separate occasions with the Piedmont Symphony.

Mr. Neidich is also Director of Bands at Liberty High School in Bealeton, VA. Throughout his 24 years in education, Liberty's bands have consistently received "Excellent" and "Superior" ratings in marching and concert band assessments and have performed throughout Virginia, Florida, New York City, Pennsylvania, and South Carolina. The Liberty Band Program is a 7-time Virginia Honor Band under Mr. Neidich's direction. In 2012, Patrick was a nominee and Liberty High School's representative for the Washington Post's Agnes Myer Outstanding Teacher award. He has also served the school division as Lead Music Teacher and is currently Department Chair of Fine Arts at Liberty High School.

When he is not performing, teaching, or conducting, Patrick enjoys running, paddleboarding, golfing, and spending time with his wife, Tara, and their three children: Arlo, Aidan, and Avalyn.
